Brooke Kester

Brooke participated in the research in summer 2023 as an undergraduate assistant from the University of Tulsa, and she returned in summer 2024 for a second tour of duty studying reproductive success and fluctuating selection in cliff swallows. She has also conducted laboratory experiments on how overwintering survival of swallow bugs is affected by group size, she and is investigating with previous data whether cliff swallow colonies sometimes reach tipping points, leading to colony abandonment. In fall 2024, Brooke will enter the Ph.D. program at the University of Arkansas, working with a Cliff Swallow Project alumnus, Erica Westerman.
